Piece – 1

Into the sunshine,                       
Full of the light,
Leaping and flashing
From morn till night!                      

 कवि फव्वारे को देखकर कहता है कि,  फव्वारा
सूर्य के प्रकाश में बड़े जोर के साथ उछलते हुए तथा
  चमकते हुए सुबह से रात तक अपना कार्य करता रहता है/

  Piece – 2

Into the moonlight,
Whiter than snow.
Waving so flower-like,
When the winds blow!

कवि चंद्रमा के प्रकाश में  फव्वारे का वर्णन करते हुए
कहता है कि, चांदनी रात में  फव्वारा दिन से भी अधिक
सफेद दिखाई पड़ता है ,और जब हवाएं चलती हैं तब यह
फूलों की तरह हिलता हुआ दिखाई पड़ता है /

Piece – 3

Into the starlight,
Rushing in spray,
Happy at midnight,
Happy by day!

कवि कहता है कि फव्वारा  तारों की रोशनी में
तेजी से चलता हुआ फुहारा फेंक रहा है, वह आधी रात
के समय भी प्रसन्न दिखाई देता है ,और दिन के समय  भी प्रसन्न है ,
कवि कहता है कि, फव्वारा सदैव गतिशील और प्रसन्न रहता है,
वह सदैव ऊपर की तरफ चलता है, अपने कार्य से कभी नहीं थकता है /

Piece – 4

Ever in motion,
Blithesome and cheery,
Still climbing heavenward,
Never a weary;
कवि कहता है कि फव्वारा सदैव गतिशील
और प्रसन्न रहता है, वह सदैव ऊपर की
तरफ चलता है अपने कार्य से कभी नहीं थकता है /

Piece – 5

Glad of all weathers,
Still seeming best,
Upward or downward
Motion thy rest;

 कवि कहता है कि फव्वारा हर मौसम में हमेशा
प्रसन्न दिखाई पड़ता है कभी ऊपर की ओर
जाता है, और कभी नीचे की ओर आता है लगातार
चलता ही रहता है उसकी गति ही उसका आराम है/

Piece – 6

Full of nature
Nothing can tame,
Changed every moment,
Ever the same
 कवि कहता है कि फव्वारा की प्रकृति सदैव
चलते रहने की है ,कोई भी वस्तु इसे पालतू नहीं
बना सकती ,अर्थात कार्य करते रहने से रोक नहीं
सकती, यद्यपि यह प्रत्येक क्षण बदलता
रहता है फिर भी सदैव वैसा ही रहता है/

Piece – 7

Ceaseless aspiring,
Ceaseless content,
Darkness or sunshine,
Thy element;
कवि कहता है कि फव्वारा सदैव ऊपर
की ओर ही चलता है किंतु यह अपनी प्रगति ,
से संतुष्ट है चाहे दिन हो या रात उसका स्वभाव
ज्यों का त्यों ही रहता है अर्थात  इसके कार्य
करने के ढंग में कोई परिवर्तन नहीं होता है /

Piece – 8

Glorious fountain!
Let my heart be
Fresh, vengeful, constant,
Upward like thee!

हमारे को संबोधित करते हुए कवि कहता है
कि, शानदार फव्वारे मेरी इच्छा है कि मेरा हृदय भी
तुम्हारी तरह ताजा परिवर्तनशील
और श्रेष्ठतर चीजों को प्राप्त करने वाला हो /
